Nearly $250M in Louisiana storm response reimbursements unverified

More than $240 million in disaster assistance reimbursements to local governments over the past 14 years have not been verified to determine if the money was correctly spent or accurately calculated, according to a recent report from the Louisiana Legislative Auditor’s Office.
