It was reported in December that East Baton Rouge Parish had a 2018 gross domestic product of $32.8 billion—tops among all parishes in Louisiana, according to data from the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis.

Besides Louisiana, East Baton Rouge would be the most economically powerful county in 14 other states, while it would have the second-highest GDP in 11 more states.
