Renovations of several units in the Camelot Apartments complex in Tigerland are already underway after Renaissance Investments, managed by Don White, purchased the complex in a deal that closed Monday.
The 34-unit complex at 1222 Jim Taylor Drive was sold for $1.04 million by Baton Rouge-based Met Real Estate Services Inc., managed by Michael Delloconno.
White, an Alexandria native, already owns and has renovated all but three of the apartment complexes on that block of Jim Taylor Drive, he says. Tigerland complexes owned by White and his family include Cambridge West, Cambridge on the Green and The Establishment.
White Companies purchases, renovates and manages apartment complexes throughout Louisiana.
White says he will repair aesthetic damages and repaint the exterior of the complex immediately and assess the renovations needed for the interior of each unit individually as they become available. White says repairs have begun on three vacant units, which should be finished in the next several weeks.
“We’re obviously excited about Tigerland. It’s a better and better place to invest and to live,” White says.
In November, a company managed by White’s son purchased the Country Club II complex in Tigerland for $750,000. Check out a Business Report cover story from September on continued redevelopment efforts in Tigerland. —Kelly Connelly
