Rotolo’s owner plans restaurant, retail development at Ben Hur and Burbank

Rotolo’s owner Mitch Rotolo has plans to build a commercial and retail development at the corner of Ben Hur Road and Burbank Drive, and has submitted an application to the Planning and Zoning Commission for approval of the final development plan.

Rotolo declines to provide additional details about the planned unit development, except to say it will be a retail strip center with a drive thru. The application identifies the project as being called Rotolo’s Plaza.

According to documents filed with the Planning Commission for the Dec. 19 meeting, the strip center would include 8,300-square-feet of commercial space for a restaurant and 8,100-square-feet of commercial space for retail. Also on the Dec. 19 agenda is a request from Rotolo to revise the development concept plan to increase the allowable commercial square footage at the intersection from 12,000 square feet to 17,000 square feet.

The following items are also on the preliminary agenda for the Dec. 19 meeting:

    • A proposal to revise the existing SPUD for the AMC Theatre at O’Neal Lane and Hatters Avenue to allow for the sale of alcoholic beverages.
    • An application for a proposed six-lot subdivision at the intersection of Highlandia Drive and Bent Tree Court.
    • An application for the planned unit development concept plan for the Richards Honda dealership at The Greens at Millerville.
    • A proposed site plan for a 411 high-density multifamily complex with a senior living facility on Greenwells Spring Road.
