The grass is always greener: Nearly half of all Americans say they wish they lived somewhere else, with Denver topping the list as the most popular dream destination, reports USA Today. According to the Pew Research Center study, 43% of people polled say they want to live in the Mile High City, while San Diego was second at 40%. Detroit was rated as the least popular destination among 30 major U.S. cities, with just 8% of those polled wanting to live there.
Have a drink on me: A statistical report on alcohol consumption shows that the margarita remains the top mixed drink and chardonnay is the best-selling variety of wine. But both are losing ground, to the martini and to pinot grigio. The Cheers On-Premises Handbook, published by the Beverage Information Group, says Absolut is the best-selling spirit call brand, while Corona is the best-selling imported beer. The study found that in 2007, the retail growth of alcoholic beverages consumed in restaurants and bars posted its smallest increase since 2001, the last time the United States was in a recession.
