Au revoir: A subsidiary of Albemarle Corp. has completed the sale of a French chemical plant. Albemarle Chemicals SAS transferred the Port de Bouc facility over to an affiliate of International Chemical Investors Group. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the Baton Rouge-based chemical company says it will take a pretax charge of about $25 million to $30 million in its fourth quarter as a result of the transaction.
Money-back deal: LUBA Workers’ Comp has returned $280,000 to qualified policyholders in metro Baton Rouge and $1.2 million in dividends statewide. This is the 15th straight year the company has distributed dividends. Over the years, LUBA has returned more than $25 million to policyholders.
