A Florida-based firm plans to break ground on a new 120-unit senior care facility on Siegen Lane in February of next year, with completion expected the following spring.
Concordis Senior Living recently received final approval from the Metro Council to develop the two-story facility on a roughly 4.5-acre vacant tract of land located on Siegen, just south of the Perkins Road intersection.
The facility will consist of one- and two-bedroom apartments, as well as studios. While 76 units will be designated for assisted living, 44 apartments will be contained in two secure neighborhoods within the development designated for patients with memory impairments.
“Each of the memory care neighborhoods includes a secured courtyard, as will the assisted living portion of the facility,” reads a news release issued by Concordia today. “These fully enclosed courtyards offer a relaxing environment complete with circular paths, park benches and raised planters for resident gardening. The property’s amenities will also include a fitness center, salon, spa, putting green, media center, business office, restaurant style dining, Wi-Fi throughout the community, as well as a bistro and pub.”
A purchase agreement for the land on which the facility is to be built is in place, says Chad Rigby of Stream Realty, which is representing Concordis in the deal. A price for the project was not disclosed in the news release. Charlie Colvin is representing the land owner, who is not identified in the release.
When the project is complete, Concordia will also manage the facility. The company, which currently owns and manages four senior care facilities in Florida, says the Baton Rouge development is one of four it plans to break ground on over the next year in Louisiana, Texas and Florida.
