A prominent Texas-based charter school network has bought land near Cortana Mall for $1.4 million to build one of its four planned Baton Rouge schools there.

IDEA Public Schools purchased the land through a limited liability company called IPS Enterprises in a deal that closed late last week. The seller is listed as a Flor-line Associates, a limited liability company owned by Olshan Properties of Ohio.

The property—about 14 acres—is located at the intersection of Airway and Tom drives, northwest of Cortana Mall.
