Four former Auburn football players have reportedly told HBO that they received thousands of dollars from boosters at a number of schools, including LSU. Stanley McClover, a defensive end who played at Auburn from 2003-2005, says when he was at an all-star camp at LSU, an unidentified Tiger booster gave him “a $500 handshake.” “Five hundred dollars for doing nothing but what I was blessed to do. I was happy,” McClover says, according to a transcript released by the website SportsbyBrooks. McClover says he was set to attend Ohio State, but switched his commitment after receiving cash from Auburn. Chaz Ramsey, a former Auburn guard, says he accepted more than $5,000 from boosters while playing at the school. The episode of Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel that details the allegations is set to air tonight at 9 p.m.
