Jan. 27: The Louisiana Association of Business and Industry hosts its annual meeting, which will feature guest speaker Dr. Ben Carson, an emerging star in conservative political circles and a potential 2016 presidential candidate. A panel discussion and luncheon also will take place. The panel discussion will include American Chemistry Council President and CEO Calvin Dooley; National Association of Manufacturers Vice President of Energy and Resources Policy Ross Eisenberg; and Louisiana Economic Development Secretary Stephen Moret. Jan. 28: Scott Anderson and Mark Boling will deliver the annual Liskow & Lewis Visiting Professorship in Energy Law Lecture at the LSU Law Center. Jan. 29: The Baton Rouge Area Foundation hosts an open house meeting on the ongoing master planning effort for the rehabilitation and preservation of the LSU lakes. The meeting will last from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lod Cook Alumni Center on campus, at 3838 W. Lakeshore Drive. Attendees will be able to view and comment on the initial working designs for the master plan, a final draft of which will be released on April 30. RSVP to attend.
Feb. 3: The West Baton Rouge Chamber of Commerce holds its annual banquet at the Addis Community Center, 7520 La. 1.
