Ride-sharing app Geaux Ride coming to Baton Rouge
A ride-sharing app aimed at connecting carpoolers to reduce the number of cars flooding Baton Rouge roadways and improve air quality will be unveiled to the public Sept. 16 at North Boulevard Town Square.
The app, titled Geaux Ride, allows commuters to create a profile to find others in the same ZIP code who are headed to the same place they are, whether to work or school. The riders connect via email and can exchange phone numbers for easier networking.
Geaux Ride is available for use right now. City officials are currently running a pilot program with employees at the state departments of Transportation and Development, Environmental Quality and Natural Resources.
