When Kansas City Southern announced Sunday that it had decided to make a deal with Canadian Pacific, which bid $31 million to buy the railroad, it appeared to throw a monkey wrench in plans for a Baton Rouge-to-New Orleans passenger rail link. However, officials say it’s not a lost cause just yet.
