Could lose up to $308 million: Pinnacle Entertainment Inc. anticipates a fiscal fourth-quarter loss of about $253 million to $308 million due to estimated impairment charges related to goodwill, real estate and other items. The casino operator also says it would ask for an extension to file its annual results so it could have more time to figure out the impairment charges. It said it expects those charges to be between $275 million and $330 million for the period ended Dec. 31. Pinnacle, which plans to build a casino on River Road, says fourth-quarter revenue climbed 18% to $259 million from $219 million a year earlier.
Do it yourself: Morrison Companies, a Baton Rouge-based development firm, has helped broker a deal to build a Lowe’s store in West Monroe. The company worked with north Louisiana businessman James Davison to sell 15 acres of land to Lowe’s. Construction and opening dates for the store have yet to be determined, but the home improvement warehouse is expected to create up to 100 jobs.
