Debra M. Whitt has been named a partner in Hannis T. Bourgeois Certified Public Accountants’ tax division. Whitt previously served as a senior manager and specializes in the oil and gas and financial institution industries as well as corporate taxation.
Sheryl G. Young has been named a partner in Hannis T. Bourgeois Certified Public Accountants’ audit division. Young previously served as a senior manager, and she specializes in auditing in the financial institution and insurance industries and taxation.
Laura Steen has been promoted to senior administrative officer at the Bank of Zachary. Steen previously served as operations and security officer and has been with the bank for 30 years.
Sandra Thornton has been promoted to assistant vice president for information technology at the Bank of Zachary. Thornton previously served as information systems officer and has been with the bank for 18 years.
Melinda White has been promoted to vice president for loan operations at the Bank of Zachary. White previously served as note supervisor and has been with the bank for 27 years.
Carol Carter has been named an associate director of the LSU Stephenson Entrepreneurship Institute. She oversees strategic management of SEI as well as program development in addition to directing the Women in Business Program. Carter, who has been with the university since 1999 and previously served as an assistant director for SEI, also is an instructor in LSU’s Rucks Department of Management.
Kathy Davison has been named as the Head of School at Trinity Episcopal Day School. Davison, who has served as interim principal since June 2008, upgraded the school’s technology, implemented a new reading program and included a pre-K for 3-year-olds. She has 14 years’ experience as an educator and administrator.
Damien Ejigiri has been named dean of Southern University’s Graduate School. He previously served as dean of the Nelson Mandela School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs since 1997.
Robert A. Barish has been named chancellor of the LSU Health Sciences Center at Shreveport. Barish previously served as vice dean for clinical affairs and professor of emergency medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He is a former military flight surgeon and one-time NASA astronaut candidate.
Cindy Briody has been named manager of Kirk’s Kids Pediatric Center at Baton Rouge General. The center includes the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and is now located at the hospital’s Bluebonnet Boulevard campus. Briody previously served as a clinical educator for the General’s education department and a charge nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Craig C. Greene has been named a partner of the Baton Rouge Orthopaedic Clinic. Greene, who practices in the Baton Rouge office, specializes in trauma services.
R. David Rabalais has been named a partner of the Baton Rouge Orthopaedic Clinic. Rabalais, who practices in the Zachary office, specializes in sports medicine and general orthopedics.
Jason E. Smith has been named an associate of the Baton Rouge Orthopaedic Clinic. Smith is a graduate of LSU’s medical school and recently completed a comprehensive spine fellowship program in Indianapolis. He specializes in minimal access surgeries and techniques.
Beth Veazey has been named vice president and chief development officer of the Baton Rouge General Foundation. Veazey previously served as executive director of Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Louisiana chapter of the National Council of Planned Giving.
Denise Burcham of ExxonMobil Chemical Company has been named Baton Rouge Plastics Plant manager. Burcham previously served as America supply chain manager/polyolefins for the company.
Steve Font has been appointed treasurer for Turner Industries Group and its subsidiaries. Font oversees all treasury-related matters. He has been with the company for 20 years, having started as a student intern in 1988.
Barbara Anne Eaton has been named vice president and general manager of Burns & Co. Realtors. Eaton will primarily be responsible for recruiting and agent development. She is a licensed broker associate and has 17 years’ experience in management and multimillion-dollar sales.
Daniel J. McCaughey has been named president of Exec-U-Store Records Management Facility. McCaughey has more than 20 years’ professional experience and has spent the past several years as the director of sales and marketing with Automated Filing Systems.
Jim Caldwell has joined the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport as the marketing and air service manager. Caldwell will be responsible for bringing in new business for the airport, as well as working with existing airport and airline customers to promote enhanced service to the area.
