LSU to launch six new online master’s degree and certificate programs
New online master’s degree and certificate programs will be offered for the first time this summer by LSU, including MBAs with specialization in internal auditing and business analytics, as well as a master of science degree in human resource education with a concentration in workforce development. LSU announced the new programs this morning, saying it is offering them in conjunction with Academic Partnerships, one of the world’s largest online service providers for higher education.
“Delivering more of our high-quality graduate programs online offers a flexible and more affordable way for our workforce to advance in their careers and allows LSU to share its top-ranked programs and faculty with students in our state and all around the world,” says LSU Stuart Bell, executive vice president and provost, in a prepared release.
Similar to LSU’s on-campus programs, all of the university’s online graduate programs are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, taught by LSU faculty and can be completed in one to two years. The new programs are currently accepting applications, with classes to begin this July and August.
Other new programs that will be offered include a master of science degree in kinesiology with a specialization in sport management, a master of social work, and a graduate certificate in workforce development. As previously reported by Daily Report, the graduate certificate is designed for professionals who don’t have time to commit to a full master’s degree program but who want to further their education and advance in their workplace.
“With 71% of students now considered non-traditional, the expansion of [LSU’s] online programs meets the needs of this growing population,” says Randy Best, founder and CEO of Academic Partnerships.
