Sullivan’s Steakhouse General Manager Leo Verde is getting a promotion to work with the Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse in Dallas. Both restaurants are owned by the same corporation, Lone Star Steakhouse & Saloon; only Sullivan’s is a $6 million a year operation while Del Frisco’s is a $14 million a year operation and is considered to be one of the top steakhouses in Dallas.
“I can’t believe that it was offered to me because it’s the original flagship of our company,” says Verde, who has been with the Baton Rouge location of Sullivan’s since November 2004. He will work alongside founder Dee Lincoln as well as the corporate chef. Del Frisco’s has eight locations in major cities such as New York, Philadelphia and Houston. It’s a little more upscale than Sullivan’s.
Frank Savoy, Verde’s right-hand man for three years who was in charge of wine, will take the position as GM at Sullivan’s. The rest of the management will be in tact, including Andy Tanburo and Jimmy Ward, who was just plucked from Juban’s.
You can still see Verde at Sullivan’s until March 1. Expect a party at Ringside before he leaves.—Rebecca Breeden
