Tuesday — State Sen. Sharon Weston Broome will hold a community meeting at 6 p.m. in the Baker Branch Library. This is part of a series of meetings Weston Broome will hold around her district to get citizen comments on legislative issues.
Thursday — The Baton Rouge Growth Coalition and Business Report will hold their annual Good Growth Awards at 6 p.m. at the Baton Rouge Hilton Capitol Center.
Friday — Eli Jones, dean of LSU’s E.J. Ourso College of Business Administration, and Donald Andrews, dean of the College of Business at Southern University, will be the guest speakers at the Baton Rouge Black Chamber of Commerce’s executive lunch. March 9 — Adam Knapp, president and CEO of the Baton Rouge Area Chamber, will speak at noon at the City Club on Baton Rouge’s growth and how to accelerate it. The lunch is $18.95.
March 12 — The LABI Legislative Issues Conference will be held at 7 a.m. at Boudreaux’s on Government Street. Dan Juneau, LABI president, and Jim Patterson, director of LABI’s employee relations council, will present the organization’s priorities for the upcoming legislative session. Admission is $20. March 18 — Breazeale, Sachse & Wilson will present a panel discussion on new state ethics laws at 8 a.m. at the Hilton Downtown Baton Rouge. The discussion will be moderated by former Gov. Mike Foster. Participants include Kathleen Allen, deputy general council for the Louisiana Board of Ethics, and Bernard E. Boudreaux, a partner with Breazeale, Sachse & Wilson.
