The Blue Rose Café, which had operated from space within The Courtyard Gifts and Interiors for about eight months before closing alongside the business in late March, will reopen in a much larger space at 11950 Cloverland Ave. that was formerly home to Willie’s Restaurant.
“We’ve been on the hunt for a new location ever since we closed at The Courtyard, and this location really fell into our laps,” says owner Christina Cox. “It’s about 2,500 square feet—about double the amount of space we had at The Courtyard—and not only does it have a nice front area, it has a bar and a large kitchen space and the refrigeration system that we need.”
Renovations are underway on the space, and Cox hopes to have the café open by the start of December, and possibly as early as mid-November. The space opened up earlier this summer when Willie’s Restaurant moved to a new location at 11260 Coursey Blvd.
“We were thinking about doing dinner service, but since it’s in the Industriplex area we’re going to do breakfast and lunch only,” Cox says, adding the café will only be open weekdays but will be available for private bookings in evenings and weekends.
Hours will be from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays, except for Fridays, when hours will be expanded to about 6 or 7 p.m. The café will serve beer and wine.
The location will also serve as the new operational headquarters and kitchen for Perfect Choice Catering, which is owned by Cox’s parents. The catering business has been in operation for about nine years and has been located at 3358 Drusilla Lane for the past five.
