Baton Rouge is one of the most termite-infested cities in America, according to rankings released today by Terminix of the nation’s 50 most termite-infested metro areas in the country. The Capital City was third on the list, behind Honolulu and Mobile.
The pest control company based its ranking on the number of termite treatments per household in the past year, and cities in the southern United States dominate the list.
Florida and Texas each have seven cities on the list, while California and Tennessee are close behind with five and four cities, respectively. Alabama, Louisiana and Kentucky each have three cities in the Top 50.
Matthew Stevenson, president of Terminix Residential says the warm weather, dampness and humidity make those areas more susceptible to termites. See the complete list of buggy cities.
