More than 213,000 Americans paid their surgeon some $5,350 to reshape their nose last year, according to a recent report from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Those nose procedures were among the most expensive that Americans underwent in 2018. Overall, people spent $16.5 billion last year on cosmetic plastic surgery and minimally invasive procedures—a 4% increase from the previous year. Plastic surgeries are also becoming increasingly common with men, as reported in the newest Business Report cover package.
Facelifts—performed 121,531 times by surgeons last year—cost, on average, $7,655 and were the year’s most expensive procedure. Also pricey were breast reductions, done 43,491 times, costing an average of $5,680.
Going the other way with breast augmentations, however, is about seven times more common, and also one of 2018’s least expensive procedures, costing an average of $3,824.
While eyelid surgeries were also among the cheapest ($3,156), it’s still a 4.3% price hike from the previous year. Costs for Botox and Dysport also increased by 3% last year.
