John Brown Jr. joined Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana as Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer in January of 2017 and is responsible for overseeing all functions of Human Resources. He is a seasoned healthcare executive who previously worked for national companies such as Humana, Aetna and Marsh USA Inc. Beyond his operational leadership, Brown is also recognized as a thought leader on employee engagement and recruitment and as a champion of diversity in the workplace. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated an ability to transform operations and build cultures of performance through investments in talent management, people development, recruiting and employee engagement. He is certified by the Society for Human Resource Management as a senior certified professional and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from DeVry Institute of Technology in Kansas City, Missouri. A community advocate, he has served on the board of directors and member of organizations across the country and currently serves with 100 Black Men of Metro Baton Rouge and Southern States Scholars.

Karen Breaux has been with the P&N team for more than eight years, with more than three decades of experience as a human resources professional. She develops and maintains policies, procedures and strategic initiatives within the firm, handling matters of compensation, employee relations, evaluations and other initiatives related to employment. She is the former president and a board member of the Greater Baton Rouge Society for Human Resource Management, the secretary/treasurer of the State Council for the Louisiana Society for Human Resource Management and a member of both the the Society for Human Resource Management. Community involvement includes membership in the Junior League of Baton Rouge and the Big Buddy Advisory Committee for its Level-UP Program, and board directorship for Cristo Rey Baton Rouge Franciscan High School.
