Roundup: PitchBR wants entrepreneurs / Sasol plant running / Danos to acquire Shamrock Energy

Shoot your shot: PitchBR is seeking inventors and entrepreneurs to pitch their business idea at the next PitchBR on March 21. The event provides entrepreneurs with an opportunity to enhance their company brand through presentation and public exposure. Participants deliver an elevator speech to a panelist of judges for the opportunity to win $1,000. Pitchers also receive audience and panelist feedback and coaching. Churning: Sasol today announced its new U.S. linear low-density polyethylene unit
In Lake Charles is up and running. It the first of seven planned LCCP production facilities in Louisiana to come online. When all are seven are complete, it will double Sasol’s global polymer production capabilities. The remaining six manufacturing units are expected to reach beneficial operations throughout this year and next.  

Acquisition: Industry service solutions company Danos today announced it has reached a tentative agreement to acquire the assets and business of Houma-based Shamrock Energy Solutions, a privately held 22-year-old oilfield service company. The deal is expected to be effective in March and will increase the number of Danos employees by nearly 50% from 2,200 to 3,200. The acquisition will expand Danos’ portfolio service offerings by adding mechanical maintenance, valve and wellhead, regulatory compliance and measurement, and power generation capabilities.
