Roundup: LSU 100 nominations / Louisiana nets $54M from lottery / Louisiana Grammys

Naming names: Nominations are now open for the 2019 LSU 100: Fastest Growing Tiger Businesses.The LSU 100 is a highly competitive program that identifies, recognizes and celebrates the 100 fastest growing Tiger-owned or Tiger-led businesses in the world. Companies must meet certain criteria set by LSU Executive Education. Nominate a Tiger-led business.

Jackpot: For the second quarter of fiscal year 2019, the Louisiana Lottery Corporation transferred more than $53.9 million to the state treasury, bringing total year-to-date contributions to $94.6 million, up almost $9.6 million from the first two quarters of fiscal year 2018 and exceeding budgeted transfers by nearly $16.8 million, Louisiana Lottery announced today. By law, at least 35% of Lottery proceeds are transferred to the state treasury and dedicated for K-12 public education. Read the full announcement.

Finalist notes: Twelve Louisiana musicians have garnered 19 Grammy nominations, according to the Louisiana Office of Tourism. The tally includes jazz musician Brian Blade and gospel singer DOE. Blade is nominated for Best Jazz Instrumental Album and DOE is nominated for Best Gospel Performance Song for “Cycles,” recorded with Jonathan McReynolds.
