Roundup: Day center closes / Vet launches sports brand / Blues festival lineup coming

Shutdown: Pediatria Healthcare for Kids, a pediatric day health care center on Airline Highway that served children requiring high-level care and close supervision, announced Friday that it’s closing because its provisional license expired, according to the Louisiana Department of Health. However, a similar facility—In Loving Arms Pediatric Day Health Center—still has two Baton Rouge-area centers that are open, says Renita Williams Thomas, the center’s administrator.  

Outfitters: U.S. Navy Veteran Glen Newell is launching a Louisiana-themed sportswear brand, Apparel By Home Run, after years of owning Venice-based Home Run Charters Fishing & Lodges. Lineup announcement: The Baton Rouge Blues Festival will release the 2019 lineup at a release party Feb. 19, from 5-9 p.m. at Driftwood Cask & Barrel. The event will offer a first look at who will be performing on April 13-14 in downtown Baton Rouge. There will also be live music by Blue Monday AllStars as well as appearances by Larry Garner, Jonathon “Boogie” Long and Kenny Neal. Purchase tickets in advance here.
