Gov. John Bel Edwards today announced the first Louisiana Statewide Business Summit will be held Feb. 21, with the goal of connecting the state’s top business and industry leaders with key administration officials in state government.
Also on the agenda: Highlighting Louisiana economic development success stories as well as ways public- and private-sector leaders plan to address challenges and drive the state’s economic future.
The event will take place Thursday, Feb. 21, from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Renaissance Baton Rouge Hotel.
Hoping the summit becomes an annual event, Edwards says this first go-round an opportunity for business and industry decision-makers to interact with the governor’s leadership team on issues critical to the state’s economy.
Besides a keynote address from the governor, there will be four major panel discussions covering infrastructure, financial stability, economic opportunity and manufacturing.
Also participating: Commissioner of Administration Jay Dardenne; Louisiana Workforce Commission Secretary Ava Dejoie; military consultant John Simmons of The Roosevelt Group; President Trey Burvant of Second Line Stages; Executive Director Craig Spohn of the Cyber Innovation Center; and President and CEO Justin Ehrenwerth of The Water Institute of the Gulf.
