Topgolf is renting out a facility at 7070 Exchequer Drive for its mysterious off-site “ambition auditions” that started last week.
Recruiting efforts are taking place in the 4,585-square-foot space—a former Knights of Columbus Hall—over a two-month period that began Nov. 1 and ends Jan. 1, says Grey Hammett Jr., a broker with Grey Hammett Commercial Real Estate who handled leasing for the deal on behalf of the landlord, A&P Real Estate Holdings.
“The building is perfect for it,” says Hammett, declining to disclose rental rates. “The facility was built as a meeting location and they used to have dances for kids here.”
It’s important to note, however, that job applicants for Baton Rouge’s Topgolf must sign up for a specific audition date at topgolf.com/careers before showing up to the facility, says company spokeswoman Morgan Schaaf.
In Baton Rouge, ambition auditions began the week of Nov. 19.
Topgolf is still in the process of hiring 350 positions and is opening in early 2019, Schaaf says, though an exact opening date has not yet been determined. The Dallas-based sports entertainment company broke ground on its $10 million Siegen Marketplace location in mid-February.
After Topgolf’s 60-day lease expires, the building will go back on the market, Hammett says.
