This weekend offers another round of events to appease your creative and intellectual appetites.
Stop by the 2018 Friends of the LSU Libraries Book Bazaar today and Saturday to shop an extensive collection of literary works from a variety of genres like art, cooking, gardening, young adult, poetry and fantasy, Best of 225 This Week reports. Vinyl LPs and 45s also are available, and you can find a variety of rare books and collector’s editions. Prices start at $1. All proceeds go to the LSU Libraries.
The book bazaar is from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. today and from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday at the 4-H Mini Barn behind Parker Colosseum off Highland Road at LSU.
TEDxLSU also returns Saturday with a group of local and visiting contemporaries sharing “ideas worth spreading.” The event brings together people from all walks of life to foster discussion that will push Louisiana toward progress.
This year’s speakers include mosquito whisperer Rebecca Christofferson, artificial intelligence innovator Shane Li, champion of street art Kevin Harris and environmental foreshadower Ehab Meselhe. Tickets are sold out, but click here to put your name on a waitlist in case a ticket becomes available. TEDxLSU will be held in the LSU Union Theater at 101 LSU Student Union.
