Two Baton Rouge Circle K locations have been sold to the convenience store chain’s parent company by a Las Vegas investment firm as part of a nine-state, 62-store deal. Circle K Stores Inc., headquartered in Dallas, purchased the stores from Greatstone Equities Inc. in sales that were filed with the East Baton Rouge Parish Clerk of Court’s Office on Wednesday afternoon.
One of the stores to change hands is located at 13796 Perkins Road, but the location of the second store is unclear. Sale documents for the second store list the address as 5313 Nicholson Drive, but the legal description—which details the tract of land the property sits on using longitude and latitude coordinates—pinpoints the location at 10391 Airline Highway.
Attempts to reach Circle K’s director of acquisitions to clarify details of the sale were unsuccessful by this afternoon’s deadline. The sale documents do not give the sales price of each store, saying only that each transaction is for $10 and other considerations. In prior deals, the Circle K at the corner of College Drive and Bennington Avenue sold for $392,000 in 2014, while the store on Siegen Lane and Industriplex Boulevard fetched $3.2 million in 2009.
Greatstone also unloaded stores in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Texas and Washington. Other Louisiana stores may have been involved, but the sale documents do not list the cities where the stores are located.
Greatstone Equities Inc. purchased the Baton Rouge stores in May 1996 for $246,000 each from Dallas-based Edgemont Realty Partners Ltd., land records show.
