The Chimes, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, Chef John Folse and The Royal Standard. These are among the best restaurants, bars, people, shops, services and events in Baton Rouge, according to 225 readers.
For the 11th year in a row, the magazine’s readers have nominated and cast their votes for the Best of 225 Awards. Categories ranged from Best Chef, which Folse snagged, to Best Place for a Kid’s Birthday Party, which went to Area 51 Extreme Air Sports.
Nominations were up on 225’s website in February, and a record-breaking 30,000-plus votes poured in. The people and businesses with the most nominations were added to the final ballot, which was open for voting in late March and early April.
More than 12,000 individuals in the 225 area cast 260,647 votes.
The Chimes was voted best bar and the business with the best beer selection. Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure was voted best event, and readers said The Royal Standard is the city’s best antique shop.
