2015 class of ‘Business Report’ Forty Under 40 unveiled
They are mavericks, disruptors, innovators and leaders. The 2015 class of Business Report’s Forty Under 40, released today and profiled in the magazine’s new cover package, are a diverse group of influential young professionals driving progress in the Capital Region.
Some are entrepreneurs and others are executives. And they hail from a multitude of sectors, including industry, finance, film, government and politics, the arts, landscaping, education, cuisine, tourism, urban planning and sports.
One of them is transforming the way the state’s largest research university takes its discoveries to market. Another created a STEM mentoring project for young girls. One established a pediatric orthopedic clinic to treat uninsured children in south Louisiana. Another is one of the youngest federal magistrate appointees in the nation.
They were all selected among a record pool of nominations for the annual awards program. Business Report received 483 total nominations for 248 candidates this year. The process of culling down the nominations proved a challenge for the magazine’s large of panel of community leaders and staff that annually selects the honorees—so much so that they eventually decided to honor 41 young professionals this year.
Each of the honorees sat down with Business Report to share a little about themselves, their careers, ambitions and favorite things about the city they call home, and each is profiled in the new cover package. Business Report will honor all 41 included in the 2015 class at a special event on Dec. 9.
