Theresa Overby has been named the director of communications for the Baton Rouge Area Convention and Visitors Bureau. Overby previously worked as the director of corporate development for the Little Rock (Ark.) Convention and Visitors Bureau. She is a member of the Meeting Professionals International and Society of Government Planners.
Financial & Insurance
Lisa LeBlanc has joined Smith Barney as a financial adviser. LeBlanc will provide financial planning and investment services and specialize in retirement planning for small businesses. She is a designated financial planning associate and a member of the West Baton Rouge Chamber of Commerce.
Industry
Donna Carville will lead government affairs and public policy issues for Dow in Louisiana. Carville previously served on the core team to develop Dow’s 2015 Contributing to Community Success goal. She began her Dow career as a chemist in research and development.
Stacey Chiasson, community relations manager for Dow’s Plaquemine site, has been chosen to succeed Donna Carville as public affairs leader for Dow in Louisiana. Chiasson came to Dow in 2006 after nine years of leadership with nonprofit organizations, state government and private business and industry.
Bob Jacobsen has joined Taylor Engineering Inc. as associate vice president. Jacobsen previously served as a costal program manager at the URS Corporation Baton Rouge office and will serve as the incoming president of the American Society of Engineers Baton Rouge branch.
Joe Suhayda has joined Taylor Engineering Inc. as senior consulting scientist. Suhayda is a retired physical oceanography and costal engineering professor at LSU and former director of the Louisiana Water Resource Research Institute. He currently serves as a coordinator for independent technical review of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Louisiana coastal surge modeling and is a frequent consultant for National Geographic, The Weather Channel and CNN.
Jeffry E. Foil has been named president of SevenOaks Capital Associates, a factoring company serving the trucking industry. SevenOaks clients include trucking companies in more than 30 states.
Pam Tuneberg has been named vice president of finance and administration for SevenOaks Capital Associates.
Nonprofit
Amy Stewart has been appointed director of human resources for Volunteers of America Greater Baton Rouge. Stewart previously worked as a human resources representative at Woman’s Hospital. She has more than 13 years in human resources.
