Community
Victoria Cooke is the new assistant director of curatorial affairs for the LSU Museum of Art. Cooke is currently the curator of European painting at the New Orleans Museum of Art, where she’s worked for a decade. She will help with the acquisition, display and continued development of the museum’s art collections and organize exhibitions.
Barbara Roos is head of the Young Adult Services Division of the East Baton Rouge Parish Library system. Roos will be responsible for all teen programming, including tutoring and the summer reading program. She will coordinate teen volunteers and oversee outreach efforts to schools and to the community as well as to the Juvenile Detention Center.
Chamber of Commerce
Miles Higgins is president of the Greater St. Francisville Chamber of Commerce. Higgins, president/CEO of The Relocation Center, will fulfill the unexpired term of Hamilton Willis, who resigned to run for police jury from District 6.
Financial & Insurance
Bernie Kendrick is manager of self-funded accounts at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana. He will work with multiple areas within Blue Cross and its subsidiary, Benefit Management Services. Also joining the company are Louanna Landry, manager of BMS quality improvement, and Lillian Derouen, manager of marketing operations.
J. Tracy Rutledge is vice president of corporate banking for Regions Bank’s Greater Baton Rouge area. He will be responsible for managing commercial and industrial relationships and pursuing business development activities in the area. Rutledge previously served as vice president of business banking.
Janice Weems is mortgage executive at IberiaBank Mortgage. Weems will be working with the Baton Rouge and Prairieville offices. The Baton Rouge native has more than 14 years of real estate mortgage experience, including processing and credit analysis. She is a member of Greater Baton Rouge Board of Realtors and teaches on a voluntary basis to Realtors.
Government
Sujuan Boutte is now assistant executive director for programs and chief operating officer of the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance. Boutte is returning to LOSFA after two years with the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality. She will oversee the agency’s scholarships and grants, START and loan operations divisions.
Health Care
Donna Bryant is the executive director of Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center’s clinical research department. Bryant has worked as a registered nurse at OLOL for 13 years and was the first oncology nurse practitioner in Baton Rouge. She obtained her national certification as an oncology certified nurse in 1998 and has received the Certified Clinical Research Coordinator certificate from the Association of Clinical Research Professionals.
Dale Redman is chief financial officer at Amedisys Inc., having served as interim CFO since February. Redman was appointed the company’s principal financial and accounting officer in February and will continue to serve in that capacity.
Industry
Sharon Cole is now director for Dow’s Louisiana operations. She returns to Plaquemine, where she began her career with Dow in 1981. She has served in several roles and divisions at Dow, most recently as technology director for light hydrocarbons, aromatics, butadiene and alpha oliens.
David Eley is an associate at Louis J. Capozzoli and Associates. Eley is a registered engineer in Louisiana, Texas and Alabama, and he has 16 years of experience in civil engineering construction, project management and staff management. Lori England and Joey Douglas have also joined the firm’s technical team as project manager and staff engineer, respectively.
Nonprofit
Nancy Eckert has been named senior vice president of resource development for Capital Area United Way. Eckert will lead a team of volunteers and staff members in efforts to grow the organization’s major gifts and workplace giving sectors. She has been with United Way for more than 14 years, holding various positions in New York and Arizona.
Real Estate
Grady Brame is executive vice president of operations and partner at Stirling Properties. In his new role, Brame will oversee the asset, property and project management functions for the company. With more than 20 years of experience in the real estate industry, Brame’s duties will include overseeing the asset management functions for more than 5 million square feet of retail and office properties.
Sciences and Technology
Brian Voss, LSU chief information officer, is now serving on the Internet2 Architecture and Operations Advisory Council in the council’s first national election. Internet2 provides network capabilities and partnership opportunities, bringing the U.S. research and academic community together with technology leaders from industry, government and the international community.
Transportation
Former state Rep. Roy J. Quezaire Jr. is the legislative liaison for the Department of Transportation and Development. Quezaire resigned his legislative seat prior to the DOTD appointment. Since 2001, he served on the Highway, Transportation and Public Works Committee and has served as chairman since 2004.
