Through the library’s innovative Grown-Up Gaming League (GUGL), upcoming Game On! @ the Library event and other offerings, these programs are reimagining what a library experience can be and providing exciting ways to engage with others in the community.

Gone are the days when libraries were just quiet spaces for reading. GUGL is transforming how adults experience leisure and social connection. From intense strategy games like Catan to role-playing adventures like Dungeons & Dragons, the library has curated a diverse collection of almost 350 games that caters to every gaming preference. Game On! @ the Library: A day of unlimited fun

Mark your calendars for the Nov. 15 Game On! event. This family-friendly extravaganza at the Main Library at Goodwood features everything from giant Jenga and life-size Hungry Hippos to VR experiences, board games and tabletop tournaments. It’s more than just games – it’s about creating connections, sparking joy and rediscovering the magic of play.

Puzzle exchange

Calling all puzzle enthusiasts! The library offers passive puzzle exchanges, speed puzzling events and a growing collection of community-donated puzzles. Challenge yourself, meet fellow puzzle lovers and enjoy a brain-boosting activity that’s both fun and mentally stimulating. Stop by Jones Creek Regional Branch, Central Branch, Zachary Branch or Pride-Chaneyville Branch and swap a puzzle today.

The next speed puzzling event will be Nov. 30 at the Jones Creek Regional Library, beginning at 2:30 p.m. Each team will compete to finish the same 500-piece puzzle. Registration is required.
