A look at the latest issued permits and property transactions in East Baton Rouge, Livingston and Ascension Parishes.
East Baton Rouge Parish
- New Jersey company Essential Properties Realty Trust purchased the Fuego Tortilla Grill property on West Lee Drive near Burbank Drive from Dallas holding company Uncommon Brands for $3.4 million.
- Trina Doan purchased an automotive repair center property near Walmart on Coursey Boulevard through the Baton Rouge entity Coursey Dragon for $825,000.
- Local investor Thang Nguyen purchased the Advance Auto Parts property on Florida Boulevard from Michigan Company Agree Realty Corporation for an undisclosed amount. The property sold for $1 million in 2023.
- An $8.5 million remodel permit was issued for the first phase of renovations on the second floor of Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. The scope of work includes a new cell therapy lab and bone marrow transplant unit, eight new patient rooms, a community room, staff areas and support spaces. La Specialty Services is the contractor.
- A remodel permit was issued for the renovation of the building containing the cafeteria at McKinley High School. Ratcliff Construction Company is the listed contractor for the $3 million project.
- A separate remodel permit was issued for the renovation of the band room and JROTC classroom building at McKinley High School. The project is valued at $1.9 million and Ratcliff Construction was selected as the contractor.
Ascension Parish
- The Ascension Parish government acquired roughly 127 acres between Louis White Road and La. 73 for $2.5 million from a group comprising the family of the late auto dealer Price LeBlanc. The land was purchased as part of the parish’s floodplain management plan and is the second land acquisition at the site, bringing the total to more than 200 acres for the project. In March 2025, the parish bought an adjacent 80-acre tract for $1.6 million.
- A new construction permit was issued for a two-story, 30,000-square-foot field house at Dutchtown High School. The bid price for the project was $7.8 million. Stuart & Company General Contractors will be working on the project.
- A renovation permit was issued for a suite containing approximately 4,100 square feet in the Oak Grove Village retail center on Airline Highway to accommodate Dogtopia’s Prairieville location. The project is valued at $780,000 with Integrity Constructors as the contractor.
Livingston Parish
- DSLD Homes purchased 54 lots for the fourth filing of its Hunter’s Ridge community from Noco LLC for $2.7 million. Jeffery Purpera, an executive with DSLD, represented the buyer and the seller in the transaction.
