Upscale residential development planned near Baton Rouge Country Club

    A 13-lot residential community is being planned along Brentwood Drive near the Baton Rouge Country Club and Country Club Place development, according to an announcement.

    Canebrake Development, in a deal that closed today, paid $1.3 million for a 2.4-acre site that will become a neighborhood called Brentwood Park. When complete, the neighborhood will include single-family detached homes ranging in size from 2,000 to 3,000 square feet, with prices starting in the $500s.

    Partnering on the project are Chris Pike, CEO of Canebrake Builders, which is building the homes, and Mike Hogstrom, developer and owner of Onsite Design, responsible for master planning and designing architectural plans. Hogstrom’s team also recently developed nearby residential areas Overton Walk and Township at Old Goodwood.

    Pike says in a prepared statement that he and Hogstrom have already received a high level of interest in the neighborhood and expect the homes to sell quickly.

    Work is expected to begin immediately, with property development completed by the end of 2019 and home construction slated to begin early next year. House plans are currently being developed.
