Roundup: Z Gallerie remains open / Ochsner expanding / Nungesser named chair

Hanging in there: After previously reporting that Z Gallerie would shutter its only Louisiana store at the end of the month in Perkins Rowe, the home furnishings retailer says it has renewed its lease in Baton Rouge and will instead remain open. Z Gallerie filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in March.

Breaking ground: Ochsner Health System received a permit earlier this week to begin construction on a nearly 10,000-square-foot medical building with exam rooms on Bluebonnet Boulevard, at the Burbank Drive intersection. Construction is estimated to cost $3,361,000. Regional Director of Communications Daryl Cetnar says the system will release more information on its plans for the location soon.

Chair: Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser has been selected to serve as Chairman of the National Lieutenant Governors Association, his office announced. Nungesser will serve as NLGA Chairman for the next year and was chosen for the position by other lieutenant governors from across the U.S.
