Roundup: Tara Wicker / LSU commencement / Louisiana Legends 

    Consulting business: Former Baton Rouge Metro Council member Tara Wicker today announced the launch of The W Consulting Group. Wicker’s firm will provide an array of consulting services focused on helping clients navigate complex challenges involving public affairs and community engagement at the intersection of government agencies and the communities they represent. Wicker, as president of the firm, is responsible for directing all day-to-day client engagements and business development activities.  

    In-person ceremonies: LSU today announced it will host in-person graduation ceremonies for this spring’s graduates. The ceremonies will be held outdoors at several locations on campus and attendees will be required to wear masks. See the announcement. 

    Live broadcast: Louisiana Public Broadcasting will recognize this year’s five Louisiana Legends honorees with a live broadcast of the annual gala on Thursday at 8 p.m. The Louisiana Legends being honored are: Carolyn Leach Huntoon, scientist and the first woman to serve as director of NASA’s Johnson Space Center; Dr. Terry King, world-renowned pediatric cardiologist and co-inventor of the King Mills Cardiac Umbrella; Terry Landry, the first African American superintendent of the Louisiana State Police; Johnny Robinson, LSU football great and 2019 NFL Hall of Fame inductee; and Donna Saurage, philanthropist and manager of CCC Holding LLC, the parent company of Community Coffee Company.
