    Candidacy: State Representative C. Denise Marcelle is expected to announce her candidacy for Baton Rouge City Constable at the Baton Rouge City Club today. Marcelle, who has served in the House for the past nine years, is also a former Baton Rouge Metro Council member. 

    Chapter 11: Teen apparel retailer rue21 filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection for a third time on Thursday, seeking to shut down its 540 stores and sell its intellectual property. rue21 has attempted to sell its business, but no buyer appeared willing to pay more than the company would earn by liquidating its inventory in “going out of business” sales, the company said in bankruptcy documents. Locally, there are two rue21 stores in Baton Rouge and one in Gonzales. Read more from Reuters. 

    Partnership: LSU is one of 21 institutions that received a grant from NASA to conduct research that could advance the commercial space sector and benefit future NASA missions.
