Roundup: BRBR awards / Tint Pros fire / Nutria prices goes up 

    Honors: Business Report took home three awards from the Alliance of Area Business Publishers over the weekend. Business Report Editor Stephanie Riegel won a silver and a gold medal for best body of work and best bylined commentary, respectively. The Business Report staff as a whole won gold for best auxiliary publication for its annual Real Estate Report magazine. Read the full announcement from AABP. 

    Damages: A Sunday morning fire at Tint Pros on Airline Highway across from Parkview Baptist Church destroyed more than $1 million of property at the business, WBRZ-TV reports. The investigation is ongoing, and fire officials are working with insurance cause and origin engineers and investigators. Foul play is not suspected at this time. Read the full story.  

    Tails wanted: Louisiana wildlife officials are upping the price they’ll pay hunters who catch nutrias from $5 to $6 after a season of fewer nutrias being caught than in the past. Nutrias are known for nibbling on tree roots and causing erosion and damage to marshes affecting southeastern Louisiana most. Officials hope the greater sum will encourage more hunters to kill nutrias during the 2019-20 season. Read the full story.
