Roundup: BRAC lunch event / CBD permits / Amazon job fairs 

    Wellness at work: BRAC’s monthly lunch event tomorrow will feature Megan Greenfield, partner with McKinsey & Company and an expert in the health industry, who will speak about the importance of engaging employees through health and wellness. The event will start at 11:15 a.m. at the Main Library. BRAC has more information. 

    Sales: Louisiana’s Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control has permitted 775 businesses to sell CBD products around the state. An agency spokesman says ATC has received more than 1,000 permit applications since lawmakers passed a regulatory structure for retailers to sell products containing CBD. Read the full report.  

    30K: Amazon is going on a hiring spree, and holding job fairs across the country next week, aiming to hire more than 30,000 people by early next year, a 5% bump in its total workforce. The company said all the positions are permanent full-time or part-time jobs that come with benefits. Amazon said the hiring events will take place Sept. 17 in Arlington, Virginia; Boston; Chicago; Dallas; Nashville; and Seattle. Read the full story.
