New restaurant in the works for Lafayette Street

A new downtown restaurant seemingly is in the works as construction permits have been issued for a Lafayette Street space across from Poor Boy Lloyds, according to online records.

A permit was granted for $35,000 worth of work to be completed to the former Dalton’s bar, directly across from the Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center. Greg Goff couldn’t be reached for comment prior to this afternoon’s deadline, but permits show the Ethel native wants to open a restaurant in the space.
