The Louisiana District Attorneys Association is moving its office from Nicholson Drive after buying the former Louisiana State Licensing Board of Contractors office on Quail Drive, off Perkins Road, for $2.5 million.
The building, near the Pennington Biomedical Research Center, is more than twice the size of the association’s current office, says E. Pete Adams, the group’s executive director. The District Attorneys’ Retirement System will continue to share space with the association and renovations are being completed to ensure the two entities have separate entrances and are completely segregated.
“Our building is getting rather long in the tooth,” says Adams, who expects to be moved in by the end of July. “The new building suits us, gives us a lot of space to house the retirement system, conduct training, and even has enough space for us to consider leasing another business here—though that would be in the future.”
Beau Box, of Beau Box Commercial Real Estate, represented both the buyer and seller in the transaction.
The move comes at the end of Adams tenure as executive director, who is stepping down later this summer to be succeeded by Associate Director Loren Lampert.
