Jay Ducote is returning to Food Network next month, competing for the opportunity to take on celebrity-chef Bobby Flay in a one-one-one cooking showdown.
Ducote—the founder of Gov’t Taco in White Star Market who established himself in 2010 with his Bite and Booze blog—goes head-to-head against his “Food Network Star” castmate, Alex McCoy, of Washington D.C., in the July episode of “Beat Bobby Flay.” Ducote and McCoy will each create a dish with a secret ingredient, and a guest judge decides who moves forward to compete against Flay.
The new season of Beat Bobby Flay premieres Thursday, and the episode featuring Ducote airs July 25 at 9 p.m.
The Baton Rouge chef is a familiar face on cooking shows, having competed previously in Food Network Star—where he made it to finals—in 2015, Cutthroat Kitchen and Chopped. He’s also appeared on Fox’s MasterChef.
Ducote is planning a viewing party from 7 to 10 p.m. on July 25 at White Star Market.
