Baton Rouge car dealer Hollingsworth Richards Ford announced Thursday it’s expanding its Ford and used car operations.
The dealer, which has operated in the Baton Rouge market for 23 years, will divest its Mazda franchise to accommodate the expansion, which will occur over the next couple months. No jobs will be lost through the Mazda closure, Mike Hollingsworth says in a press release, and all those employees will be transferred to the Ford dealership.
While Hollingsworth Richards can’t perform Mazda warranty repairs, the dealership says Mazda customers can continue having maintenance performed at the Quick Lane located at the Ford dealership.
Hollingsworth Richards opened the Mazda dealership in late 2008.
The dealership’s expansion plans will allow for a larger display area for new Ford vehicles, says the press release. It will also be doubling its pre-owned inventory, and is the exclusive Ford dealership in the city offering a “Lifetime Powertrain Warranty” on all new retail Ford sales.
