Companies are buying more renewable energy and they want their customers to know about it.
Businesses are increasingly sensitive about climate change concerns and reducing their carbon footprint while keeping an eye on cutting costs, according to a survey of 600 companies by the New York-based consulting firm Deloitte.
About 67% of businesses surveyed reported that they are getting pressure from customers to obtain a certain percentage of their power from renewable sources, The Houston Chronicle reports. Consumer and industrial product companies such as automotive, retail, travel and hospitality firms say they’re feeling the most pressure followed by technology, media and communication companies.
To make sure their clients know about investments in wind and solar power, 72% of companies are actively publicizing their renewable deals this year, up from 65% two years ago, according to the survey. Read the full story.
