Bullfish Bar + Kitchen changes hands

    Jazz City Catering cofounders Jasmine and Angel Lombrage have purchased the holding company that owns and operates The Bullfish Bar + Kitchen on Nicholson Drive, founder Carey LeGrange announced today. Financial details of the sale were not disclosed.

    The Bullfish sells a fusion of Caribbean, French Creole and Cajun cuisines, a concept created by LeGrange, who, along with his wife, Kay, opened the restaurant in 2016. Angel Lombrage, a founding team member of Voodoo BBQ, spent 18 years as the company’s executive chef.  

    The Lombrages, who have been in the culinary industry for more than 30 years, sold their last Voodoo franchise two years ago, and wanted to get back into restaurants, Jasmine says.

    “We saw the need for authentic Caribbean food in Baton Rouge,” Jasmine says, adding that they want to use more fresh herbs and traditional Caribbean foods at the restaurant, while still keeping some of its Southern flair. The new owners also plan to extend the restaurant’s hours to better align with the habits of LSU students and eventually include weekend brunch.
