Jeremiah Shinn has been hired to serve as LSU’s vice president for student affairs, the university today announced.
Shinn, currently the associate vice president in the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management at Boise State University, has 19 years of higher education experience. He’s previously served in various roles overseeing Greek life, student leadership development, civic engagement programs, Student Government and residential life, among others.
The position—which oversees the Office of Greek Life, the LSU Recreation Center, the Olinde Career Center and other student engagement and retention initiatives—has been under the microscope in recent months.
Shinn’s predecessor, Kurt Keppler, quietly parted ways with LSU in January as several Greek life scandals were playing out, including multiple hazing allegations against LSU’s chapter of Delta Kappa Epsilon.
Shinn is expected to assume the role by July 1, pending approval from the LSU Board of Supervisors.
