After a three-month temporary closure for renovations, popular Indian restaurant Bay Leaf Indian Cuisine will hold its grand reopening Thursday.
The restaurant, which serves authentic north and south Indian cuisine, has long been part of the Baton Rouge food scene, first opening in 2008 on Sherwood Forest Boulevard, says general manager Frank Presad.
During the three-month renovation hiatus, Bay Leaf owners have overhauled the restaurant space, including new furniture.
“So many people have been asking (when will we reopen),” Presad says. “I talk to five to 10 people a day.”
While the restaurant renovations will be new, everything else, including the staff and the food, will remain the same, Persad adds.
Bay Leaf offers a daily lunch buffet, serving traditional Indian dishes, such as tandoori chicken. The restaurant also provides private rooms for corporate events, says Persad, able to accommodate 50 people.
