It was another month of losing hands for Baton Rouge’s three riverboat casinos, with June seeing monthly year-over-year revenue losses for the 22nd consecutive month.
Collectively, L’Auberge Baton Rouge, Hollywood Casino and the Belle of Baton Rouge reported $19.2 million in June earnings, according to the latest report from the Louisiana Gaming Control Board, a 13.1% decline from the $22 million accumulated during the same month last year.
The sharpest revenue drop—once again—comes from the Belle of Baton Rouge, which collected just $2.3 million last month, down 43%. Meanwhile, Hollywood Casino took in in $4.5 million, nearly 8% less than the year before, and L’Auberge collected $12.3 million, or 6% less.
Baton Rouge also posted June’s lowest collective earnings among Louisiana’s four casino markets, with Lake Charles coming out on top ($60 million), followed by Shreveport/Bossier ($49.7 million) and New Orleans ($22.7 million).
However, all markets reported year-over-year losses, amounting to a 10.2% statewide revenue loss totaling some $17 million.
