Expansion at SLB’s Shreveport manufacturing hub will add 600 jobs

SLB will invest $30 million to expand its Shreveport operations, nearly doubling the footprint of its advanced manufacturing hub at the former GM assembly plant, Louisiana Economic Development announced Tuesday

The project positions Louisiana as a growing player in the hyperscaler supply chain and adds production capacity for digital infrastructure and data center equipment.

State and local leaders praised the announcement as a major win for Louisiana’s manufacturing future. The expansion is expected to create 600 new direct jobs.

“Louisiana offers the workforce, infrastructure and partnership we need to grow, and we’re proud to deepen our investment in a region that continues to deliver for our business and our customers,” SLB Data Centers Director Andrew Johnston said in a prepared statement.

Work on the expansion will begin in January 2026, with staffing increases planned through 2027 as new areas of the site become operational.

To secure the project in Shreveport, the state of Louisiana offered SLB a competitive incentives package that includes the comprehensive workforce development solutions of LED FastStart and a $6 million performance-based grant for utility and infrastructure improvements. The company is also expected to participate in the state’s Quality Jobs program.
